The CI Innovations Difference
What is the CI Innovations difference? CI Innovations lamps differ from low end cold
cathode lighting because they are specifically made to service the demanding continuous
applications of a 24 hour a day 7 days a week 365 days a year situation. To achieve this
CI Innovations, combines innovative technology, the highest quality raw materials, and
the most stringent quality control.
Low-end cold cathode lighting is adequate only for applications requiring a mere 1 to 2
hours of operation a day. These low quality lamps are made as cheaply as possible, with
minimal quality control and no regard for lamp life or light quality.
On the other hand, CI Innovations lamps are held up to incredibly high standards and a
system of tight controls to ensure product quality and consistency. To assure long lamp
life CI Innovations, uses the highest quality long-life phosphor and adhere to the most
rigorous standards of proper gas pressurization. Mercury content, which is vital in
maintaining the longest lamp life possible
and also helps protect the environment from damaging contaminants.
Also adding significantly to lamp life is a specially designed internal electrode that reduces
carbon buildup and mercury migration. CI Innovations brings you this unique, proprietary
internal electrode, made with the most cutting edge lighting technology available.
For demanding continuous applications and the highest quality long life lighting available,
the choice is clear. Choose the best product on the market today - CI Innovations lighting - the
ultimate lighting solution.

Quality
Low end CCFL lamps are not made for demanding continuous applications. They are
mostly used in applications requiring only 1 to 2 hours of operation a day, for example
hobby applications. Low-end lamps claim a 20,000 or 30,000 hour lamp life; this can be
very confusing. Lamp life is calculated at half the original brightness; in other words,
at 20,000 hours the lamp is half as bright as it originally was. This does not mean
that at 10,000 hours they will be 75% as bright. Low-end lamp will be at approximately
60% after only 750 to 1,000 hours after roughly one month of continuous usage.
CI Innovations' lamps are designed and formulated to survive in a 24 hour, 7 days a week,
365 days a year environment. CI Innovations' lamps use the highest quality long-life
phosphor formulated for the long life in the demanding applications. Low-end lamps are
not concerned with the life of the lamp so low quality phosphors are used. As an example
we pay upwards of $650 a kilo for the phosphors used in our lamps which are the purest
available on the planet today. For reference, the majority of the phosphors used in production
lamps throughout Asia ,cost a mere $40-$50 per kilo. This is a major contributor to both color
consistency, luminosity, and lamp life.
Strictly controlled gas pressure. The gases inside the bulb must be at the proper
pressure and mixture to assure long life. With the CI Innovations bulbs, the most stringent
of quality controls are put in place to assure that every lamp is properly pressurized and
gas ratios are right on the numbers. Low-end lamps can have different gas mixtures and pressure
from lamp to lamp. It is not uncommon to see variations of 30%-40%, even with lamps that were
made in the same batch. Incorrect pressures and mixtures will cripple a lamp.
Stringent control on mercury content. All of CI Innovations lamps have consistent mercury
content. This is very important in maintaining the longest lamp life possible. Too much
mercury content is bad for the environment and severely shortens lamp life. Too little
mercury content will shorten the lamp life and reduce the brightness level. Low-end lamps
can vary greatly in mercury content from lamp to lamp. One of the remarkable accomplishments
that we have made is we are able to achieve maximum lamp life with minimal mercury content.
In fact , we are able to us
Specialized internal electrode. CI Innovations' lamps contain a proprietary
internal electrode, which reduces carbon buildup and mercury migration, also allowing
power to evenly flow through the lamp, which adds significant life to the lamp. These
electrodes are high-tech and on the cutting edge. Low-end lamps use a "flapper", a thin
piece of metal in a configuration, which resembles a "V". This configuration can increase
carbon buildup and mercury configuration thereby shortening lamp life.
Electrode alignment The internal electrode on each side of the lamp must be perfectly
centered for proper flow of electrons from one end of the lamp to the other. If
the electrodes are not in proper alignment, a lowering of lamp efficiency will be noted
and also light flickering on the ends of the lamp can occur. Low end lamps have been
noted where the internal electrode has been positioned at an angle and in some cases
even touching the glass tube. You are never sure what you are going to get.
All of our high quality lamps have a perfectly centered internal electrode maximizing the full
potential of the lamp. Any variance in electrode positioning would be rejected by Quality
Control.
Quality control. CI Innovations' lamps undergo the most stringent of quality control
before they are installed. Lamps are life tested, shock and impact tested, glass strain
tested, brightness and chromaticity tested using the latest testing equipment.
